The Presidential candidate of the National Interest Party, NIP, Eunice Atuejide has stepped down from the race and has shown support for Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP because of his choice of Vice president.
Mrs Eunice Aruejide is the second woman to have stepped down from the presidential race following the unexpected withdrawal of former Minister of finance, Oby Ezekwesili barely twenty eight ago.
In a recent interview, Atuejide disclosed that she stepped down from the election because her race for the presidency was programmed to end on February 16 “and it did.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, cancelled and postponed the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled to hold on the 16th February to 23rd February 2019, citing logistic issues.
However, Atuejide has confirmed that she would solidly support the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, because of his choice of VP. She spoke really well of Mr Peter Obi, stating that he has great potential and personality. Though she is yet to meet him in person.
She further stated saying irrespective of the parties they belong to at the moment be it PDP, APC, PPA, ANN, YPP, or NIP. The main aim remains that they all search to join a party that will put them on a platform where their voices could be heard.
