Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar says the situation of power is alarming

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, who is a business man, has attested to the fact that he is among those suffering from the power issues in the country. He stated that he spends billions of naira just to generate power for his companies.

He stated this on Twitter, on thursday during the #AskAtiku session where he responded to questions from some of his followers.

A Twitter user @ofishea, had queried the former vice president about his alleged ownership of a generator company.

The user, joklingly, had said Abubakar would not address the power supply problem in the country because of his business interest.

Responding on Twitter, to the joke which he took very calmly, the presidential candidate denied the allegations. He said, “My friend, I know you meant this as a joke, but the power situation in Nigeria is not funny. As a businessman, I don’t enjoy the billions I spend generating power with diesel”.

He has called people’s attention to the fact that he would improve power if elected President as he will try to attract key investors to the power industry and ensure competitive pricing, especially for corporate and industrial end users.
