About 2,303 families who were affected by the flood last year felt the impact of the The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Saturday when they paid Adamawa state a visit and presented relief materials to the affected families.

The Coordinator in charge of NEMA, Mr Abani Imam was there present and he was in charge of presenting the items in Yola. He further added that the items shared were to serve as a form of comfort from the losses incurred by the victim.

In a recent statement made by the Coordinator, he was heard saying ” Today ,the Agency is presenting food and other items to about 2,303 households; the items are just to assist and bring relief to the affected victims,”. He used the medium to advise them about the importance of clearing the water ways and not building houses on water ways so as not to have a repeat of such a flood in coming years.

Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency ((SEMA),
Dr. Suleiman Aminu, thanked NEMA for the gesture. He also spoke on the fact that the intervention came rather late as the flood incident happened in August 2018. Items shared include, bags of Semovita, Beans, Sugar e.t.c.
