The Senate is set to convene for a pivotal plenary session on Saturday to finalize the passage of the 2024 Appropriation bill by the National Assembly. Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, confirmed this during a recent interview.

Reports indicate that during this Saturday’s session, the Red Chamber aims to approve the 2024 Budget, which stands at an estimated N27.5 trillion.

In the prior month, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu formally presented this budget to a joint session of both chambers of the National Assembly. Following the budget presentation, heads of various Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Chief Executive Officers of federal government revenue earning agencies defended their budget estimates before the pertinent Senate Committees.

Additional investigations uncovered that the Chairpersons of the Senate Committees have already submitted their reports to the Senate Committee on Appropriation for review.
