The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2018 Gubernatorial polls in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been given another shot at the top seat in the state after his defeat in the Supreme court to Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the APC.

Reports has it that some of the leaders of PDP had on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, endorsed Senator Adeleke to fly the flag of the party in the next Osun State governorship election set to hold in 2022.

Chief Peter Babalola, the Chief of Staff to a former Governor of the state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, had moved the motion seeking the adoption of the “dancing Senator” to be the PDP Gubernatorial candidate come 2022.

In the same vein, a motion was moved for business mogul and billionaire, Dr Deji Adeleke, to be made the leader of the party in the state by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Hon. Diran Odeyemi.

The adoption of Adeleke took place at the family home of the Adeleke’s in Ede, Osun State as leaders of the PDP came together for a thanksgiving programme after Adeleke’s loss to Oyetola at the Supreme Court on Friday, 5th of July, 2019.

Some notable personalities who were at the event included members of the State Working Committee of PDP, Alhaji Asifat Olarinde, Chief Layi Ogunrinade and Chief Ajeigbe.

Honourable Diran Odeyemi, as well as the sister to the Senator, Chief Mrs Dupe Adeleke, were present at the occasion.

The announcement was said to have been received with mixed reactions as some applauded the move while others were skeptical about it.
