An officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Yakubu Shuaibu who was attached to the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A in Lagos, has been allegedly killed by suspected smugglers.
The incident happened at Akinrun village in Oja -Oda area of the State, after Customs officials had seized contraband goods.
The smugglers, according to report laid an ambush for the Customs operatives while they were returning to base and shot at them.
The FOU spokesman, Mr Jerry Attah confirmed the incident saying that the deceased had been laid to rest in Abeokuta according to Islamic tradition.
Mr Attah also confirmed that no arrest has been made but investigation is still on.
