Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has revealed that some highly placed individuals want to take his life.
Bawa made this revelation during a recent interview where he was called to speak about the politics in Nigeria.
It is worthy of note that Bawa is the youngest chairman of the anti-graft agency in the history of Nigeria. He quickly pointed out that he has been receiving death threats since he assumed office.
He was quoted saying : “Last week, I was in New York, as all Nigerians are aware of. A very senior citizen received a phone call from somebody that is not even under investigation. What he said to him on the phone is that; he is going to kill the EFCC chairman, the young man.”
“He said, ‘I am going to kill him. I am going to kill him’. This is to tell you how bad it is. It is actually real. Corruption can fight back.”
