While the Enyimba defender was one of the stand out players for the Flying Eagles as they qualified for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup last month.

Gernot Rohr speaking with reporters claimed that he selected Onuachu because of his experience in Europe and his goal scoring ability. He added that Onuachu would bolster the Super Eagles attack. On the choice of Ozornwafor, the German tactician stated that he watched the Eyimba defender in Niger and he liked his aerial and technical play and also his physical strength is another factor.
