SUSPECTED DRUG DEALERS KILL FOUR NDLEA OFFICERS IN ONDO

Reports have it that some gunmen shot and killed four NDLEA officers on Monday in Ondo State. The culprits were said to be identified as drug dealers.

The officers were conducting a stop and search on some vehicles along Owo/Ifon axis of the old Benin road when the assailants, said to have sped towards them on three motor bikes, and shot them dead at a very close range.

The gunmen also set ablaze the Hilux Van belonging to the officers. They also took with them the riffles of the dead officers and some other belongings while villagers ran for their dear lives.

The Ondo state commandant of the NDLEA, Mr Haruna Dagara, confirmed the statement after he tiold newsmen that the corpses of the officers had been recovered from the scene. He also said that the agency will collaborate with sister security agencies to launch an investigation into the incident.

The Nigerian Police have also launched an investigation ionto the matter as disclosed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo state police command, Femi Joseph. He assured everyone that the culprits will be brought to book.
