Falana Folarin may not ring the actual bells as “Falz the bhad guy”. He is the son of the prolific human right activist and lawyer, Femi Falana. Falz is a lawyer turned singer for the love of music and he began his music career in 2009. He is known to be the voice of the poor as he sings about their pain and hardship.
His single “THIS IS NIGERIA” which is a cover of the hit track done by America based Childish Gambino speaks of the struggles citizens go through and the failures of the government. Falz has started 2019 with a bang as his new single “Talk” remains the talk of the town. The track is a socio-concious song which addresses the happenings in the country and gives pieces of advice to the youth.
“Talk” addresses issues as regards the upcoming presidential election, he also asks the youths in the country to stand and do what is right. Falz promises to release an album titled “Moral instruction” on the 15th of January. He claims to be more interested in restoring sanity to the people, re-educating them and giving them a new orientation.
Folarin Falana remains the only Nigerian singer who has also won the prestigious AMVCA award. Asides from being a good singer he is also a great actor. It could be right to say Falz is a musical prophet who passes his messages via his songs.
