Ahead of President Buhari’s planned campaign visit to Jalingo, Taraba State on Thursday, there have been reports of destruction of campaign billboards of the President and his party, the All Progressives Congress, by suspected thugs from the opposition party.
While President Buhari is an advocate of peace and has made it clear that Nigerians should be allowed to vote candidates of their choice. Ahead of the upcoming election the PDP is getting more and more desperate and thinking of the elections as a do or die affair.
Reports have it that the President has asked APC members in Taraba not to reciprocate, instead they should continue with their campaign peacefully. The destroyed billboards contained the projects carried out by the Federal Government in Taraba, such as dams and agriculture. It is clear that the opposition party does not want citizens of Taraba to know about the impactful initiatives of Mr President in their states.
Yesterday President Buhari visited Nassarawa and Benue states and he is set to be in Taraba and Adamawa later today.
