In a bid to enhance the structural integrity of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, the Federal Government has announced a temporary closure of this vital transportation artery. From midnight on Saturday, October 21 to midnight on Sunday, October 22, the bridge will undergo repairs, beginning with the restoration of its critical segments.

Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, expressed the government’s commitment to executing extensive rehabilitation on the bridge to ensure its long-term safety and functionality. To alleviate the ongoing inconveniences caused by the bridge’s condition, palliative works will be conducted on the most severely affected sections along the Adeniji bound carriageway on Sunday, October 22, in preparation for the comprehensive repair work.

In light of this temporary closure, motorists are urged to cooperate with traffic management officials and adhere to diversion routes to maintain a smooth flow of traffic. While the Adeniji bound of the bridge will be closed from Saturday, October 21, until Sunday, October 22 at midnight, motorists are encouraged to explore alternative routes when possible during this period. Your cooperation is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of these vital repairs for safer and more efficient commutes in the future.
