THUGS BURN DOWN INEC OFFICE IN OWERRI

INEC office in Isala Mbano Local, Imo state was set ablaze by political thugs on Sunday. The thugs were believed to be working for one of the politicians in the area and they ealier accused INEC officials of manipulating results of the just concluded election.

The setting ablaze of the INEC office occurred shortly after results of the collation of results was done at the Isiala Mbano LGA and moved out of the electoral commission’s office to Owerri, the state capital, by security men in company of party agents and chieftains.

Reports have it that though the area was full of security men, but that did not stop the angry thugs from razing down the building.

The State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi confirmed the incident and has also confirmed that investigation into the case of arson had commenced. He assured everyone that those who carried out the action will be arrested and prosecuted.
