On Friday, President Bola Tinubu held a significant meeting with traditional rulers from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Led by the esteemed Sultan of Sokoto and Ọọni of Ife, the traditional rulers conveyed their perspectives on the current state of the nation.During the meeting, the traditional rulers acknowledged the multitude of challenges facing the country and expressed their understanding that leading amidst such difficulties is not an enviable task. The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammed Sa’ad Abubakar III, who spearheaded the delegation, emphasized their unwavering support for President Tinubu’s vision to improve the country.In his opening address, the Sultan conveyed the traditional rulers’ confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to guide Nigeria towards progress. He affirmed their commitment to assisting him in solidifying the renewed hope agenda. Furthermore, the Sultan assured the President of their continuous support and loyalty, reiterating that they are readily available whenever their expertise is needed.Echoing the sentiments of his fellow traditional ruler, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Adewusi, urged President Tinubu to leverage the influence and experience of the traditional rulers in addressing the issue of insecurity. He earnestly implored the President to utilize their collective wisdom and resources, stating, “Mr. President, use us. Use us. Use us.”The meeting served as a platform for President Tinubu and the traditional rulers to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding the pressing challenges confronting Nigeria.
