The United Arab Emirates has once again announced the indefinite suspension of flights from Nigeria to Dubai.
The statement was released on Monday, amidst Covid-19 fears. The statement negates their earlier decision where they lifted the ban on travels between Nigeria and Dubai. The ban placed affected not only Nigeria, but South Africa too. The initial reason for the ban was that there was breach of Covid-19 protocols.
The news made the rounds that the ban was to be lifted on Wednesday, the 23rd of June, 2021 only if Nigerians provided a negative polymerase chain reaction test within 48 hours before departure.
However, in a recent update on its website, the airline said the UAE made a U-turn with a new travel update indicating that Lagos and Abuja flights would no longer resume on Wednesday as earlier announced.
