UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN UNDERGRADUATE DIES IN AUTO CRASH WITH TWO OTHERS INJURED

A young female student who was discovered be an undergraduate of the University of Ibadan with the name Baliqs Olajumoke Adeniyi, on Friday morning died in an auto crash involving a tricycle, popularly called Keke Marwa, and a waste disposal truck in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The incident was reported to have occurred around 9.20 am at Leventis bus stop, along Sango-UI road, Ibadan. The sad incident happened when a tricycle with number plate RU 12 UP ran into the waste disposal truck with the an inscription on it which reads “MARC LAMMERTYN.”

An eyewitness informed that Miss Adeniyi was returning from GT Bank where she just went to pay in her school fees. Her phone amd purse were found in her bag. She was carrying an identity card belonging to the University of Ibadan which made the identification rather easy.

Two other victims who had fractures in their heads and legs were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Reports have it that the accident was caused by a bin disposal truck parked on the road.

Spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in the state, Mr Oluwaseun Onijla, who confirmed the incident promised to send full details of the incident.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr Gbenga Fadeyi, who also confirmed the incident, said an investigation is ongoing on the cause of the accident.
