The Non Academic Staff Union of the Universities and Allied Institutions (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have not shifted grounds comcerning their February 5 ultimatum to the Federal Government.
This was reiterated by Peter Adeyemi, NASU General Secretary after the meeting held on Tuesday between Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige and the Unions in Abuja.
The associations’ demand include non-payment of arrears of minimum wage, poor funding of universities, fixing of inconsistencies in the Integrated Payroll Personnel Information System (IPPIS), NASU and SSANU 2009 agreement, among others.
After the meeting, the Minister of Labour Chris Ngige told news men that the government responded to IPPIS issues, he assured that reasonable progress has been made.
Ngige said the team will end firm that all the irregularities are feted to the happiness of all parties.
The report to be delivered will be followed by another discussion to discuss outcomes.
Adeyemi said they would inform their members on the Abuja meeting and confirm their next activity.
