Controversial social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly apologised following his physical altercation with comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, aka Mr Jollof, which caused delays on a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos.
In an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, VeryDarkMan took “full responsibility” for the incident, describing it as unnecessary and expressing regret for the disruption caused to fellow passengers.
“I would really like to apologise for what happened yesterday on the United Nigerian Airlines. What happened yesterday was not supposed to happen, and I will take full responsibility for it,” he said, acknowledging that the confrontation delayed passengers with urgent commitments, including potential medical emergencies and business obligations.
Reflecting on the incident, he admitted, “Even though some people saw everything as a cruise on social media, I acted irresponsibly. Looking back at what happened yesterday, I really didn’t like that part.”
He assured Nigerians that such behaviour would not occur in public spaces again, particularly on planes or buses, while reiterating his remorse. “I am really, really sorry for yesterday,” he added.
