Vice President Osinbajo holds Meeting with State G overnors over minimum wage

The Chairman of the National Executive Council and Vice-President of the country, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, held a meeting today with State Governors in Abuja over the proposed minimum wage.

It should be recalled that on Tuesday, President Buhari held a meeting with the Federal Executive Council and the outcome was to be presented to the NEC for further deliberations,today, Thursday the 17th of January.

The Federal government has agreed to the proposed N30,000 minimum wage but some State Governors have claimed that thier states are not financially bouyant to pay such an enormous amount. The state Governors held out a N22,500 minimum wage offer.

The Nigerian Labour congress having heard the outcome of the meeting have taken a stand and said it’s either N30,000 or they would embark on a nationwide strike.
