Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has emerged as the fourth most valuable player globally, with a market worth of €120 million, as reported by Transfermarkt. The rating places him just behind Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain, Erling Haaland of Manchester City, and Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid.
Mbappe and Haaland have witnessed a €10 million increase in their value, reaching €180 million, with Haaland’s previous worth at €170 million. Meanwhile, Vinicius is valued at €150 million. Osimhen shares the fourth spot in terms of value with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.
Notably, Osimhen’s value has soared from €100 million at the close of the previous season. The Nigerian striker played a pivotal role in Napoli securing their first Scudetto in 33 years, contributing 26 goals. In addition, he netted five goals in the UEFA Champions League, bringing his total tally for the season to 31.
Osimhen’s impressive performance has attracted interest from top European clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich. He was also honored as the best foreign athlete in Italy this year. Having joined Napoli in 2020 for a club-record fee exceeding €70 million from Lille in France, Osimhen has already surpassed George Weah’s record for the most goals by an African player in Serie A. Furthermore, he surpassed Samuel Eto’o’s record for the most goals by an African player in a single Serie A season.
Napoli reportedly demands a fee of €150 million in any potential deal involving Osimhen this summer. His remarkable goal-scoring form has positioned him as a strong contender for the African Player of the Year award.
