Oba Adetunji Saliu, who is the Olubadan of Ibadanland has recently disclosed that he has never objected to the return of his counterparts to the palace. He stated further that he would accept them back with open arms once they do away with their illegal crowns and tender an open apology to the Yoruba people at large.
The smaller Oba’s have accused the monarch of not according them the respect they deserve as members of the Olubadan-in-council and they also stated that the monarch as degraded the Olubadan institution.
Oba Saliu Adetunji was quick to respond to their allegation through one of his media aides, Mr Oloko Adeola through which he stated that he never stopped any of his chiefs from coming to the palace. The monarch stated that the chiefs who deserted the palace have neglected their duties to Ibadanland.
The first class monarch has sounded a note of warning to the embattled oba’s that he understands that they are scared because Oyo state is going to be taken over by a new administration following the victory of Seyi Making in the gubernatorial election.
The monarch added that he has failed to approve of the other oba’s because rhr good people of Ibada did not approve of it.
