Majority of Nigerians have now condemned the fresh order issued by the National Broadcasting Commission, instructing television and radio stations to avoid revealing details and the activities of bandits in their reports.
In a statement on Friday, NBC stated the need for caution as too many details may be harmful and have severe implications on the efforts of the security officials on matters concerning insurgency.
The Commission has now called on well meaning broadcasters to work with the government in dealing with the security challenges.
Nigerians have now retorted via Twitter accusing the Buhari-led administration of trying to conceal its activities and deprive Nigerians of the right to information.
They wondered how Nigerians would be aware of security update around them if details of bandits, kidnap attacks are hidden.
