He advised the President to continue his political career and assume leadership of the ruling party at the highest level to provide direction.

“There’s one thing I suggested to the President that I did not tell you, people,” he claimed. I suggested it to the President and stated that you cannot rest. The party will be consulted by me.

The party ought to reinstate our Board of Trustees or something resembling it, with Mr. President serving as Chairman and visiting the party every four to five months to assess its progress.

“We cannot just leave the party empty; this was done in the early days of the ANC so that the President would remain a part of the party’s conscience and we would have someone to turn to when we have issues within the party; the truth is that God alone saved our party.

God saved our party because there was so much contention and animosity within the group. This party was only saved by God.

“Since we need a man like President Buhari to be aside, we’ll go and drag him from Daura every three to four months and he’ll settle party matters. We’ll put him back, and he goes back there and continues to look after his cattle, rice, and everything else.

“I have more time to go before I start going to look after my palm kernel, me I’m not yet ready to care for it.”
