OONI OF IFE: MOST NIGERIANS WALLOWING IN ABJECT POVERTY

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has during the 2021 edition of the annual celebration of the Aje Festival urged the Federal and state governments to direct economic policies and other commendable programmes to the citizenry.

Oba Ogunwusi, who is the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) encouraged the public authority to support the Nigerian masses by utilizing the cultural tourism industry as a genuine for economic disruption.

As a country, Ooni said that prosperity should go round, particularly to poor people and other weak individuals from the general public, saying, the country can’t continue to have strikingly rich few Nigerians and uncountable ones suffering from wretched poverty.

The ruler while speaking commended the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government over a few economic projects and approaches like the current employment of 774,000 Nigerians throughout the nation.

The organizer of the yearly Aje Festival, Princess (Dr) Oluwatoyin Kolade communicated satisfaction with the huge turnout of participants from inside and outside Nigeria.
