POPE FRANCIS NAMES HIS NEW PERSONAL DOCTOR

Pope Francis has named Professor Roberto Bernabei as his new personal specialist.

The Vatican in an explanation on Wednesday said Bernabei, who is a specialist in medical care for the old, will be taking over from the past one who passed on from Covid complications.

Preceding his nomination, Bernabei, 69, heads the geriatrics and rehabilitative medication department at Rome’s Gemelli, the Catholic emergency clinic where popes are generally treated.

Fabrizio Soccorsi, Pope’s own PCP passed on from Covid complications.

The 78-year-old doctor was prior admitted for a previous medical problem on December 26 at Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
