South Africa’s Johann Rupert Surpasses Aliko Dangote as Africa’s Wealthiest in 2024

In the latest Forbes Real-Time Billionaires update, Johann Rupert, the chairman of luxury giant Compagnie Financiere Richemont, has secured the top spot as Africa’s richest individual for 2024, surpassing Nigerian mogul Aliko Dangote. Forbes reported Dangote’s wealth dip, sliding to $9.7 billion from $13.5 billion, while Rupert’s net worth saw a decrease to $10 billion from $10.7 billion.

Additionally, other shifts in the billionaire rankings witnessed Abdul Samad Rabiu’s rise and Mike Adenuga’s fall, shaping a new top ten in Africa’s billionaire club.
